Description
Unique Boat Excursion: Lalaria – Kastro – Tsougkria
Discover the unparalleled beauty of Skiathos with a magical boat trip that combines history, natural wonders, and exotic waters!
- Kastro – A medieval fortress perched at the edge of the island, offering breathtaking views and ruins that reveal the rich history of Skiathos. Built in the 14th century, it served as the island’s main fortified settlement until 1829. Initially Byzantine, it later came under Venetian and Ottoman rule through bloody battles and power shifts. The inhabitants abandoned the fortress after the Greek War of Independence, returning to the old settlement. Naturally fortified by steep cliffs and a single gate protected by a bridge, today it preserves churches, cisterns, sections of walls, and the Ottoman mosque, with some restoration work completed on-site.
- Lalaria – The famous beach with white, round pebbles, crystal-clear blue waters, and the striking “Tripia Petra” (Holed Rock). A landscape of untouched natural beauty, accessible only by sea.
- Tsougkria – A small, exotic islet with golden sandy beaches and turquoise waters. An ideal destination for relaxation, swimming, and exploring unspoiled nature.
